Downloading a blog

I'm trying to get a blog running and I don't really like the alternatives that most sites offer (them hosting it for me).
So what I'm looking for is a pre coded blog with a basic html style sheet witch is easy to modify and some good instructions for it. I would prefer if it contained a a picture gallery

Anny advises is appreciated

I think (and I could be wrong) there is Wordpress and Moveable Type. I think there is another one called Typepad, but that just might be a service. I don't have a blog (I have nothing really to say) so I don't know if any of these will help you.

Yeah, Movable Type is said to be pretty good. Ditched it myself 'cause i'm still too lazy to figure out how CSS works.

I'm currently using Greymatter which is pretty easy to configure, yet still very customizable with plain HTML. And it doesn't require a database.

wow twisted that looks pretty nice, a friend of mine will set up a account on his server so I can test my alternatives, but since greymatters is configurable with plain html it's leaning toward it.
