The incident occurred in a residential area just off a busy prefectural road.
Currently, police lines have been drawn, and there are many police vehicles and investigators in the area.
Around 6 p.m. on the 18th, a report was made to the police from a residence in Takayanagi, Kashiwa City, stating that "a person was found lying in a pool of blood. I heard a woman's voice arguing."
According to the police, a 59-year-old man and woman living in this house were stabbed with a knife-like object and were later confirmed dead.
A nearby resident said, "I really hope they catch the person soon."
Another resident said, "I have to pick up my grandchild around noon."
The police have established an investigation headquarters, concluding that it is a murder case based on the bodies and the scene of the crime.
Furthermore, about 1 kilometre away from the crime scene, a fire broke out, completely burning down eight houses.
It has been reported that the resident of the house where the fire originated cannot be contacted.
The police are searching for the man who fled the murder scene and are investigating the connection to the fire.
