I don't think so. His essays, Norwigean Wood, and the end of the world and hardboild wonderland are all very very different.

What makes you say it's all the same?

1.All the stories have two cluesne is realistic,the other dreamlike;
2.The writer always uses images which make others confused (such as bull,crow...);actually he tries to create atmosphere of suffocation and depression (in my opinion);
3.There're always two kinds of girlsne is normal and near this life,the other a little idealistic and can hardly get involved in the society;
4.The leading characters all have a similar personality;they always pay more attention to the second type of girls;they themselves belong to the second type in the heart,but they never show that;many time they feel sad and depressed,but they just try to avoid thinking of the sorrow;
5.All these stories don't say the sadness out directly,and that's why lots of people like them cause they seem closer to ordinary people than many other stories;
6.But after all they all show us a life of desperation;
