Do Japanese Movies work here on American DVD Players

I been looking at a few movies that I would like to watch in their entirety on youtube. I found a site that sells them, but I dont know if they will work here on American DVD players.

If I buy them and it turns out that they don't, is there any way that I can get around this?

In all likelihood they are region coded (2), unless they are special import versions for the US. If you have a computer, particularly a laptop, you may be able to change the region coding on it however there might be a limit to the number of times you can do this.

If I run VLC Media Player on my computer, will this allow me to watch Japanese DVD movies?

Nevermind. I just found a local warehouse that sells Multi Region DVD players.
