DNA change accounts for white skin

Fair Trade...

Ah what the hell, I'll engage the JREF forum troll--it'll help sharpen my wits for that martial arts tournament I'll be entering in the summer...

So....if I said blacks are unevolved primitive humans and included a smiley, that would be alright?

No, it wouldn't: It'd be grounds for having you mobbed and 131tchslapped, gangsta' style--don't make me pull out my 9, foo!

Of course it's a double standard--but blacks being able to make racist jokes about whites with impunity is more than fair considering all the sh*t my honkey brothers give them...

...such as assault, discrimination, slavery--and that incredibly lame parody of a gangsta' rappa' I just did.

Now granted, I've never done any of these things (exept for the gangsta' rappa' part) --and I daresay no living african american was subjected to slavery in pre-civil war America, so the slavery argument's a little thin unless you buy that whole "sins of the fathers" thing--which I don't.

But even ignoring slavery, (gasp!) the sheer amount of crap that Blacks have to put up with in this country today...

...

If letting them call me a cracker keeps them from rioting and accidentally burning down my house along with my bigoted niegbor's...

(fire's kinda hard to contain--especially when there's a riot going on)

...well, that sounds just fine to me.

Back on topic:

I always thought the danger in discovering racially identifying genes wasn't in fueling racism (which has never really seemed to need logic backing it up in the first place) but in making race selective bioweapons possible...

...too late now I guess.

So when do you expect equality and judgment based on the content of one's character rather than the color of one's skin since you express a willingness to prop up a double standard which I would expect any self-respecting black person to view as highly patronizing?

Never.

Human beings simply aren't capable of something so fair and noble.

I think it's partonizing too--but it wasn't my choice--it's their choice whether to settle for that, like so many do, or work for something better.

Still, with Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle getting paid, and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King and Malcom X getting shot--I can't really blame 'em.

It's hard to chose what's right over survival these days.

I do hope you realize how racist you sound. It's amazing how you don't even see your own bigotry.

Oh I'm quite aware of my own bigotry--I am completely prejudiced against all human beings regardless of race, creed, or any other damn reason.

Ironically, that also makes me completely neutral on issues of race--seeing as I despise all races equally.

Of couse, sometimes telling the truth can be confused with racism--most people choose to mitigate their feelings of guilt over slavery and racism by veiwing minorities as being nothing but hard working, opressed people struggling towards a better tomorrow...

...that's as bigoted as saying they're all poor gangbangin' dope fiends.

But most people chose not to notice bigotry that favors people instead of attacking them.

Saying black people are stupid isn't okay, but saying they all have great rhythym isn't thought twice about.

I've known black people who had no rhythym--and by the same token, I'm a whitey who doesn't have a tight ***, to paraphrase Richard Pryor.

Most people don't realize it, but there are alot of layers to the whole race/bigotry issue--we demonize one kind of prejudice, but there's a million others that're so much a part of our culture nobody even recognizes them.

A statement which blacks have to be appeased, placated, and/or pandered to and operates on the supposition that rioting is the natural state for blacks otherwise?

You think the offensiveness of such positions can be glossed over with the trite and overworn I-hate-everybody-equally?

Equal-opportunist lunatic and bigoted beliefs about people of different ethnicities, not good bed fellows.

You misunderstand--I'm saying rioting would be a resonable response. I would be rioting if I had to deal with that kind of prejudice and intolerance every day. Fortunately I only have to deal with it when I speak my mind. :D

It's just another example of how much of this bigotry is subconscious that you automaticaly assumed:

Talking about black folks rioting = he must think that's their natural state = what a bigot

What I'm saying is that rioting is a legitamate and historically precedented response to opression--take the American, Mexican and French revolutions, for example.

Come to think of it, there were riots in France recently, weren't there?

I should read up on that.

My point was that, given what african americans commonly have to deal with, it's suprising they haven't rioted more often--if anything they're showing more restraint than the founders of our country--so I really think we're getting off light if the only retalliation is verbal.

And your right, the whole "I hate everybody" thing is a bit trite--I don't really hate all humanity...

...I just don't think very highly of us.

If you're going to hate, at least have a reason and do it with style and creativity. Unfortunately, you have none of those things.

Doc 🙂

Reiku I'm going to have to make some points. For starters, as an African American myself, I don't know what you mean when you say that you don't understand why we don't riot much considering what we commonly have to deal with.

Personally, I feel that it only makes African Americans look bad when we riot.

Anyways, I've always felt that it was never fair for a black comedian to make fun of whites, but of course this wouldn't be okay if it the other way around. That is something I never understood. ☝

Personally, if I were black and saw whites not taking exception to race-based digs at them, I would consider them to one degree or another racist. Or at the very least paternalisticly patronizing me with what has been called "the soft bigotry of low expectations".
