Today, Japan has released two apps that travellers to and from Japan can use to show proof of vaccination against the coronavirus. One of the apps is a digital version of the paper-based vaccine passport municipalities have been issuing since late July, while the other allows holders to upload necessary documents for customs, immigration and quarantine (CIQ) procedures.

  • The first app — called the COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate Application — is for residents of Japan who need to show proof of vaccination in English at destination countries when they travel overseas. It can also be used domestically when they want to dine out with a large crowd, travel nationwide or attend large-scale events even when infections are spreading — activities that have been restricted or advised against based on government guidelines.
  • The second app — called Visit Japan Web — is for travellers arriving in Japan going through the entry process, which has become lengthier because more paperwork is required due to the pandemic. Having all those documents uploaded to the app beforehand will allow CIQ officials to make the process smoother and reduce the risk of infections.

Unfortunately, however, the app is tied to My Number identification cards, which have been adopted by only 40 per cent of the population.

The app spares people the tedious process of having to go to their local city hall to be issued a vaccine passport, but they must possess My Number identification cards to use it. Because only about 40 percent of the population currently has My Number cards, it is unclear how many people will download and use the app. The agency released the app for both iPhone and Android smartphones. Users need to download it through app stores and then enter a four-digit PIN number. When they present their My Number identification cards to confirm their identities, their smartphones will display their vaccine passports. Users can hide their QR codes, names or birthdates to protect their personal information. The government expects the smartphone-based vaccine passports to be used in its "vaccine-and-test package." That new effort is aimed at easing restrictions on eating and drinking establishments and event operators by requiring them to ensure that their customers are fully vaccinated or have tested negative for COVID-19. Smartphone vaccine passports can also be used as proof of full vaccination when traveling to more than 70 countries or regions, including the United States and South Korea.

the end result will be microchips that detect covid infection... then the money and social credit score will be implemented into it too.... once this happens, all that freedom and opinion you have will be nought as its there way or the highway. There religion, there rules, there world.

Don't you think it's strange that 'free' americans are already the most heavily surveilled people in the world (facebook and google stifling laughter here), while those commie socialists in europe have actually done something about it?
