I always thought どの meant "which" (out of a group), and どんな meant "what type" or "what kind". But in class the other day there was some question which asked どんな something something, and the answer was of a specific object, not a specific type (sorry I can't remember the exact question and answer).
So what exactly is the difference between どの and どんな?
