detail on monbukagakusho scholarship... help!

hi! i've just got my offer letter of being selected to received the scholarship to pursue teacher training course Ehime University. i'll b leaving malaysia in early october. the letter telling no detail so i hope u guys can help me out with few questions!!
1) i understand v will be provided dormitory, so is it free or i have to pay rental using the scholarship money? how many person share a dorm at ehime university? is food provided at dormitory??

2) does the 172 000yen cover all expenses in Japan? particular in matsuyama city where ehime university is located?

3) how far will the scholarship support expenses on transportation just to get to ehime university from Malaysia? an airticket to which international airport?? what happen next? do i have to buy inland airticket or trainticket in advance now??

1) Completely depends on where you go. You will pay the dormitory fees. The fees are generally cheap.

2) 172,000 yen is a ridiculously good living allowance for a student. Congratulations, you have probably the best scholarship in Japan.

3) You get a free plane ticket sent to you. You will receive 25,000 yen once you arrive. This will be more than enough to get you to Ehime. Your airport will likely be Kansai International, though it may be Narita for some reason (I seem to remember everyone coming in by Narita when I got the scholarship). In either case, 250,000 will be enough or close to it.

Don't bother booking transportation in advance. Either someone from the university will be there when you arrive, or go to the ticket counter and explain where you want to go - train tickets are exceedingly easy to buy.

Bring at least 150,000 with you when you come - it is important insurance until you get your first stipend.

1. As Nall-ohki stated, you ll most likely be provided with accommodation and you will need to pay for the cost, however it is relatively cheap compared to private housing..Try to communicate with your prospective sensei regarding your accommodation as places might be limited

2. You wont get 172k yen, you will start with 170k yen for d first year before being reduced to 160k yen starting from d 13th month. However, it will be more than enough for you even by compulsive spending

3. Regarding the transportation, do not worry about that. Soon you ll receive a booklet about Study and life in Japan. Inside there ll be like a student identification card. Once you reach Japan, just wear that and there will be people from JASSO attending to you on top of an allowance of 25000yen. Just rmb to bring some extra clothing as weather might be turning cold soon after you arrive
