Dealing with Yakuza...

My girlfriend works as a hostess at a bar in our neighborhood... The other night, luckily a night she wasn't working, some Yakuza guys (I'm told they were Yakuza guys--- I don't know for certain if they were just your run of the mill local thug)... and pushed around some of the girls and one of the waiters there.

I'll be out of the country for a while in the states while I renew my visa--- My girlfriend seemed to be of the opinion that there wasn't much anything one could do, especially since she feels any action to physically remove them wold just lead them to bring more people back to the bar---

What is the police situation with so called 'organised' crime like this? Has anyone had any similar sitations like this happen to them?
 
i have a odd story about a time in roppongi drinking with friends.. doesnt help ya in anyway but it was when i drank and did some stupid things.. anywho

We were all geting done with an all you can drink Karaoke and when i got outside i pulled down my pants and rubed my *** across some "yakuza" car window.. they stoped got out but i didnt care.. i had enough friend to back me.. other then that the only problem ive had was trying to get into some bars and gentalmens clubs
 
Thanks for the advice, and the (odd!) story! ...I suppose yeah, mizu shoubai is what it is... A lot of people have those sorts of "oh I bumped into a Yakuza guy..." yada... but when they purposefully BUMP into you... I guess, just high-tail it out of there...

Of course my girlfriend wants me to protect her--- but, I'm not Charles Bronson. I'm not Bronson Pinchot either, but that's another story entirely.
 
I think that many people may get confused with a true Yakuza and a Chimpira, the Yakuza have been forced underground for the most part as the laws regarding them changed a few years back. The Japanese Poilice have cracked down on most of the Yakuza and they are not as prominent as they once were.
 
I'd say, deal with Yakuza like you would deal with any other nuisance, IF they are a nuisance towards you.
We've all been in a situation where someone enters a public place, mainly bars, pubs, etc, and start looking for trouble, the worst thing IMO is to cross eye contact with them, and sometime simply ignoring them is not the best option either.
I've ended up paying a beer to such people in some occasion, get them to calm themselves and to talk, and laugh with them, one thing for sure, don't go against someone who is looking for trouble, or you might find trouble first.
A beer is cheaper than a punch in the face.
No matter how much people you are, the non-violent way is always the safest.

I've been here for 4 years and never had any yakuza or chinpira issues... Am I lame?

I think the best protection for his girlfriend would be to advise her to find another job, though she cannot expect good salary.
 
in our history (arabic this kind of people were punished by cuting on hund n' on leag at opposit sides. 😌 it was the law in 12th century.
these people think that your don't want truble, you are scared of them :( . IN the other side, they are not afraid even if they must die:eek: .
it's a tipicale child's reflection 'n that's how they get money, it's theyr job.
they look for somthing to hunt 'n they go for it so don't be this thing first, but somtimes they have to look for some1 who ignor them to make it an exemple for the othres, in this cas don't continu ignoring them 'n act normaly whithout giving them what they want nor eritating them 😊
i know it's easy to say ,but dificult to do😌
 
Difficult to quit her job if she makes big money like Jin Sirosaki, a charismatic HOST said to earn 100 million yen/year.
But Shirosaki quit the job and enter J show-biz industry now.

My girlfriend is actually moving to the states now, so she doesn't have to worry about so-called Yakuza... Honestly, I have no way of knowing what their actual status was, because I wasn't there, and even so, I have no way to check in the Yakuza-Directory....

Sadly, her mizu shoubai job earned her more money in a month than her regular 9-5 ever did--- I'll say it again that the workplace in Japan is unfair for women.

Will the labor crisis change this, as they say? I suppose we'll see.

I had a run in with CHIMPira about a year ago. I started talking to this girl who was standing nowhere near anybody, she was digging me. This skinny guy walked over to me and said "hey, that is my girlfriend".

I said "oh, sorry" but that wasn't good enough for him. He then gestured to this stocky guy with the fake bake tan, and the sunglasses inside at night,and the lion haircut.


I didn't care about the girl because there are a lot of gorgeous girls here so I don't have to worry about someones girlfriend.

Even still, I would say that this is a situation where these guys MADE these girls their girlfriends, but using force or intimidation. The girl seemed anxious to escape the relationship.

Anyway, this guy just kept giving me tough looks. I thought it was un-called -for considering I was tring to ignore him.


The thing is that I am pretty sure that if we had squared off in a man-to-man fair fight, I would have kicked his butt.

But, I have had experiences like this before, and I realized that even when if I had kicked his butt, the skinny guy was planning to jump me too. This is the dirty way that the Japs fight, (Pearl Harbor was just one example of theri cowardly character) It is hard to fight two guys no matter how much of a p***y each of them were induvidually. Furthermore, most of the Japanese in the room would have sided with him even though he was the bad guy. Because these people cannot see things in a logical or fair way. They only care about which team they are on. And in this case, and in every other case, they are on TEAM JAPAN, and we are on TEAM GAIJIN.

Furthermore after I kicked his butt the police would have been called and the police would have automatically taken his side, because they all suffer from the same feelings of inferiority, based on the fact that they are inferior. Therefore, they have formed a kind of chisai chin-chin coalition.


And the chimp would have hypocritically changed the role he was playing from tough guy, to vicitm. He would have cried on the shoulder of the cop and the cop would have had compassion for him because he suffers from the same complex. He would have essentially said "there, there don't worry about it, I have a small one too and so I understand how you feel to be emasculated by a real man. But, not to worry, I have a gun, and we have the entire, corrupt, chisai chin-chin gaisha behind us. The prosecuter, and the judge which might as well be the same person in this country, also are j-scum and therefore.....

I knew I would get no justice so I didn't do anything. But, I fought plenty of Japanese guys in my old university martial arts club dojo. I know what it is like to fight them on a level playing field. Of, course I only fought guys in the same weight category. But, this chain smoking Shibuya Chimpanzee was not even up to standard of those guys.

Why "sadly"? At least, she is smart enough to consider her carrier path after the mizu-shobai, instead of dumping her money in host clubs.

Are salaried workers have to be a host/hostess complaining of current salary or unfair job status? I'm as tall as the guy above, so first I've got to lose my weight about 10kg, dye my hair, and the hardest part should be, I think, to acquire competent as well as sweet business talk.

If possible, your girlfriend's participation here would be to highly contribute the to _the_point discussion, mizu-sobai, yakuza, unfair female job status in Japan, for I can hardly understand the conections between mizu-shobai and unfair female job status.
 
I think quickly kicking all there asses would solve problem much faster personally. Trust me when I say ive taken down some hardcore black thugs, I dont think some little Japanese guys are going to present a problem.

I think this is critically out of context here, we're not trying to lower anybody or whatever, just trying to find out solution to a problem.
I understand you are pissed-off because you we're humiliated but then again, racist behavior is not a way to solve a problem, it just creates a new one.
I have a korean friend, and we make fun of him all the time about is "so called small area" but it's a friend, and he makes fun of us the same way about other stuff all in good terms, no harms.
Maybe you were the one who got draft in a racial affair, maybe that so called chimpanzee did'nt like you at the first sight though, that could be it too, then you are the victim.
It's certainly hard to handle those situation, we just try to make the best out of it.

I started to sympathize and relate to you Parky until you started a racist rant as I had a similar experience with Chinpira while there. You can view it here

No where in your story did you say that they insulted you or made racist remarks to you as you assumed and did of them. I think it is quite uncalled for and really shows your true colors and immaturity and the fact that you do not know anything of the country you are living in.

If I may, why are living in a country you so despise and hate?

I've seen this happen more than a few time in Japan. My guess is that they are just your run-of-the-mill local punks trying to look tough. She was correct in her assessment of the situation. In reality there is nothing that can be done unless someone calls the police and presses charges or someone challenges them to a fight. What your girlfriends bar needs is a few good, real yakuza as customers and that behavior would stop immediately.

My guess is that they were not yakuza as that sort of behavior is not tolerated by the elders as you can see in my story I linked above.

I have known and hung out with real yakuza (and one is still a dear friend today) and they would have definitely put a stop to them if they were told or witnessed it. Real yakuza are more refined and would not do what you described above or they would be missing a pinky real soon.

I say sadly, because, she worked 9-5 very hard for a job that paid her less than what she made on the weekend at mizu shoubai...

I would have prefered she left her office job, she was technically 'part time'... she wasn't REALLY part-time, just her, and a number of other women who worked there (I believe actually ALL the women) were part time, so that they got neither benefits nor vacation nor bonuses...*

Consistantly her pay for her weekend job is greater than her pay for her office job, which is 'sad' to me, as it seems like a job which she went to To-U to study for (graphic design) and which she does very very well shoud be paid equally to her as her male co-workers. Thats all.

*if the males can actually TAKE their vacations--- that is another thing entirely. Don't know about that, as I don't have professional work environment experience in Japan.
 
I think the Japanese yakuza are a soft touch compared to many a criminal of my country so, i actually think their nicer to have around, you only get a finger chopped off if you fail to do your thuggish duties in japan right? in my country i can emagine a crime lord would gladly take a hand instead, or f***-it, just shoot ya in the chest. ☝

I went to Vegas recently and there the people have gone for work, or the entertainment, or the gambling. But, a lot of them complain about the heat.
Of course it would be very stupid of me to ask "WHY DON'T YOU LEAVE IF YOU DESPISE AND HATE IT" I don't want to put words in their mouth.
Pachipro we all put up with your long-winded, heavily embellished accounts of your time here in Japan. And it is easy to recognize that you have lot of free time to do so. If you lost your virginity in Japan, hey, that's great!! But, don't go around playing god and pooping on everybody's posts.
And, you think that anyone who doesn't live in your doped up fantasy world must not know anything about Japan....but I think that just because you committed a felony in Japan, got your poor wife thrown into jail, and disappointed all of your students, and your family, and narced off your buddy, doesn't make you any more qualified than anyone else to comment on Japan.
It just makes you a 5 time loser.
If you love it so much, get off you 51-year-old butt and come over here. But leave your dope at home this time. Maybe if you are not all smoked up you will start to see things a different way.

Some Japanese might be big wobbling tits, but that doesnt give you the right to label all of japan with your racist slurrs.

And i think the combined experience of everyone else here who have been to japan (and not been racist about it) far outweigh your view, as such, we win.
