I failed miserably at going to a club the last time I was in Japan. I searched and got soaked trying but never actually finding a couple of different clubs. The third one, which I did find, had recently shut down.
I intend to go again in July and am hoping to get a recommendation or two for clubs. I was warned by someone though that some clubs work very differently in Japan as compared to the United States. I tend to be more comfortable in clubs where people dance a lot, but I hear that a lot of clubs are more social gathering places where people hang out and talk. I'm wondering if there are any recommendations for places where a lot of dancing goes on.
I like listening to industrial, hip hop, rap, and 80s pop, or any Japanese-language music would also be fun. I will be staying in Tokyo and Kyoto .
Relatedly, any punk live music venues would also be a lot of fun, if anyone has any particular recommendations.
