Curious translations

A member mac, on these forums, who is basically fluent in japanese, and is a naitve japanese speaker, translated this. I find it interesting because I would NEVER expect some of these translations. It just goes to show you there are a billion different way to say the samet hing in japanese! I ask him why it's that way but he cannot explain it.

This is a story about PETA vegan and why not to eat meat or dairy projects.

I'm very interested in this sentence.
Chick: 僕は、Nuggetじゃないの！

Boku is used by males, so I guess the chick is a male. However, yananino is knew to me. Perhaps the "no" is used for emphasis. But "nai" is probably negative. What this means is supposedly, "I'm not a nugget!"

You'd think it would be: Boku wa, nugget arimasen!
I don't know if he's living or inanimate. I mean, he's a talking chicken nugget. I'd suppose he's alive since he talks, in that case:
Boku wa, nugget imasen!

Here's the whole translation:

It's probably just a typo since he mentioned 'nai' in his next sentence.

じゃない(janai) = not
Examples:
本 じゃない = not a book.
僕 じゃない = not me.
かれ じゃない = not him.

ぼくは、nuggetじゃないの！ = I'm not a nugget!
( ぼくは = I am. nuggetじゃない = not a nugget. の = !! )
And you already know that の emphasizes it.
So, again, ぼくは、nuggetじゃないの! = I'm not a nugget!

PS. You will also come across ではない(de wa nai) which has the exact same purpose as じゃない(janai), ではない is more polite.

Those are also informal versions. ではありません(de wa arimasen) and じゃありません(ja arimasen) are the formal versions of the word.

Sorry kumo. I hate to say this, and it will probably get me banned, but I really can't stand people like you. I'd use a stronger word but I don't want to sound too rude.
Do you realize how hard I've been studying? Do you realize how much I've actually learned and retained in the past week? Literally 10 hours + each day.
I make mistakes. And I makea lot of typos. I KNOW IT WAS YA NAI NO. Ok? I even got the no as empahsis right, and knew "nai" was the informal style of negativity. You know, I can't please you.
Fine, maybe it's not 'nugget arimasen' perhaps its 'nugget dewa arimasen', you GOT MY POINT.

I shouldn't really fear posting.

And my book, it doesn't cover it well. It only covers conversational japanese, and both of them are the same. I guess I could look through each sentence, and find it that way, as it explains the particles that way (far into the book) but I just wish it had a section dedicated to particles, etc, and grammar.

It has conversationl, and it also explains what the words mean it.

Sorry, I don't have any money (I'm broke), and these 2 books should help somewhat with conversation, although not really. I got them for free from emmbers on this forum. I guess I can try websites, eh? Got ag ood one? I heard timex was a good one, but I don't have a link to it (my favorites are full)

Yeah, I'll ignore everyone and do my own path. Of course, this is what YOU think. I don't ignore everyone. sure, sometimes I ignore the advice, by going too fast. This may make me forget more, as it's better to learn things very good and remember them than to forget them. But I do listen to people sometimes, and I'll review those "I am yan videos" and websites.
If I never make it, I'l go take instructional classes. And yes, I will become fluent. I'm determined, and Im' not giving up. We all make mistakes. I make alot of them; and you may think I don't learn from them, but I just pratice to write sentences more so I remember them better. We all learn from our mistakes, even me.

The te-form is sometimes easily mistaken.It's used to connect sentences with multiple verbs.

For instance : Watashi wa hon o yonde(te-form is "nde"), tenisu o shimashita.
Else you should say : Watashi wa hon o yomimashita.Watashi mo tenisu o shimashita.PLUS, you have to use the correct order of the actions you used, so if you read first, you should start with yomimasu.You end with the -shita form.In this way you can combine sentences with eachother without making separate sentences BUT..to know where you get a dubble t or just 1 t or nde is a ***** sometimes

I think what RockLee meant by "te-from's *****" is that learning how to conjugate to te-form from plain form can be hard to memorize at first. I remember when my aunt first went over it with me and my reaction was "What the hell is this?". There are rules for conjugating that you don't really need to be bothered with at first if you're still struggling with the basics(I'm not implying that you are).

Learning too much in too little time is the best way to forget it all. Move at a pace that is comfortable. As for writing:

Just so you know...

yondeimasu is not the -te form of yomu. Yonde is the -te form of yomu. For asobu, the -te form is asonde.
