Couple Questions

when trying to use certain structures with specific verbs, it sometimes requires much more thought to make the structure fit within the context. For "~te miru," something along the lines of "tabete miru" is probably the easiest example to think of.
There are even the verbs "tamesu, kokoromiru" for "try," and the character is used in compounds like "shichaku," which means "to try on [clothes]. What can get even more confusing is that you can combine these verbs with the grammar structures, like "shichaku shiyou to shita" (I tried to try on [the clothes]) or "tameshite miru." (I'll try it and see [how it turns out]).
Even these numerous words and structures don't completely completely cover all meanings of "try," this seemingly simple structure can be quite complex, as it is very context-driven. This is a great example of why it's important to divorce yourself from thinking within the context of other languages when trying to learn Japanese.

So, like it's which you're going to first try something you've never tried before?
Like, if you go to an amusement park, and your friend wants you to go on a rollercoaster you've never been on, and you could say like "I'll try riding it, but I don't know if i'll like it." or something like that?
And since that's for the first time thing, how would you do that regular 'to try' thing?
like my other sentence before?
And to Elizabeth, i guess it could mean just being out and then coming home, or it could mean running away and for the first time trying to come back home...? I dont know.
明日は、帰ろうと努力するんだよ。 People too busy working and sleeping at the office recently to come home can say "Tomorrow I will make an effort to come home" using 帰ろうと努力する。
Broadly speaking, "Try to" or "make an effort to" "do my best to..." using 努力 I think fits into most situations you would use "try to get home tomorrrow" in English, such as not being able to get home today due to a traffic jam but will try again tomorrow. Just my opinion, though.
交通渋滞なので、今日は、帰れない場合、 明日は、帰ろうと努力するんだよ。でいいと思います。
