Here's what I've got so far:
4 years... lengthening my stay 1 year at a time in this job line is something I never wished for.
"Ohhh, you mean 'Tokyo style'?... I get that a lot."
"Ohhh, you mean Tokyo style?......Well said."
" 'Is this a sushi shop?'??... [of course it's a sushi shop,] you can tell just by looking."
"so you can pretty much tell just by looking that this is a Sushi shop."
And what sort of a sport is tennis ? It's a game where you hit the dropped ball with a racket and compete for points.【
{Kentarou}:This is where we play a sport called Tennis....(Can't figure out the rest.)
"Amazuppai" is sweet & sour taste. When associated with emotion, it suggests sweet, naive sense of love.
"Hitotsu, hitotsu" means "every" here, said emphatically.
DingoEnderZOE2 said:Okay I got three more. Here they are:
"Then that means, I can really have this Japanese Katana!? GREAT!!
-(Can't figure out a decent translation for that one word and how to make it fit in the sentence.)-
"There must be something in New York waiting for me!! All right! Let's head straight to New York right away!"
-(Same)-
"My eyes are pretty?.........Uggggh...Ew I'm going to be sick. I've always been very uncomfortable with words like that."
-(Is that a good translation?)-
"The voyage is my traveling companion; the world is kindness."DingoEnderZOE2 said:Okay I have some more requests. Here they come:
I think this is may be more like "All we need is machine to machine killing" "Let's hope hatred increases hatred" or something along those lines ? With all these ellipses and difficultly of establishing any order, I also doubt the "dakara da" coming at the beginning.Glenn said:"Because, machines should kill machines. I pray that hatred calls hatred." The second sentence is a guess, because the original is a bit ambiguous to me. Also, I'm not entirely sure what nuance だからだ has at the beginning of an utterance.
Epigene-san!epigene said:Sorry for the mistakes I'm making when I'm in a rush.
The line comes from "kodan" narrative either on Okubo Hikozaemon or the adventures of the yakuza "family" of Shimizu-no-Jirocho (Jirocho of Shimizu). I confused another yakuza Kunisada Chuji with Mori-no-Ishimatsu of the Jirocho Family.
"Haitsukubaru" means to crawl, so the sentence means "I shall have you crawling under my feet."DingoEnderZOE2 said:Just a quick translation confirm request this time:
"I shall have you crushed under my feet."
"It's exactly like I remembered it!"
Are those decent?
Looks OK to me - except that 成敗 is a bit tricky.DingoEnderZOE2 said:I got a really quick request: I'm just looking for a better translations then what I got if it can be changed.
I, Gemini Sunrise.....In the name of my master Mifune I will defeat you!!
I think flanks are firmed up or strengthened not tightened.
Having the both of you guys tighten both of our flanks makes me feel reassured.
I think your translation is OK--just add Paul's suggestion.DingoEnderZOE2 said:I got a really quick request: I'm just looking for a better translations then what I got if it can be changed.

The sword is turned on me in retribution ? I ask that you take my blood.....?
"The battle starts from here.....(Help)"
Because ham will hold its flavor (stay fresh)...it is indispensable for travel. That is it.
"(Something about Ham)"
The first translation is OK, as long as you understand this:DingoEnderZOE2 said:こんな貧相なのを相手に負けるなんて……
"to lose to such a skinny person like you....Leondass really is all talk."

Thanks, Epigene-san. That explains both "motte" and the "ukettemorau" modifying 報い. I was concerned about them, but didn't have a ready solution. The second means: You're going to pay for drawing the sword toward me--with your own blood. (Literally, "you will receive retribution with your own blood, for pointing the sword toward me.")
