I remember a similar phenomenon on a New Year's Day over ten years ago: snow on blossoming plum trees at Kameido Tenjin, a scene of splendid beauty.

Yep, it does seem to happen more often these days. Even on a few days in winter when the air is really warm, some cherry blossoms will bloom here in Yamaguchi.

interesting phenomena!
The leaves are green as well, so what sign there is that it is autumn season?
It was better the photographer took the photo from an angle to show other threes have yellow-orange leaves.

This year we had about 5 real good days to view the cherry blossoms in Yamaguchi-ken. The last week for them though came fast with strong winds and heavy rains. Yesterday every tree now was bare of them. I always said this about the weather, one week after the last cherry blossom is seen then that's when summer starts. Springtime seems to have its lost meaning these days.
