Hello, I need some information.

It said this tanto is by Byakkotai. Does anyone know about this one? Is there a document or something?

Hello Savatore,
I've never heard of a Byakkotai tantō. I mean, I know who the Byakkotai is, but I've never heard that they made any tantō, and I would be very surprised if there were such a thing. The fittings don't teach us anything. You would need to send the tantō to Japan for authentication to know who/when it was made.
Or, you can try sending detailed photos of the blade (not the fittings) to a site called Nihonto Message Board to see if the guys there can provide any more information. It's quite hard to date a tantō like this one, especially if it is out of polish.

Hello, I hope you are well!

I'm not sure if there was a swordsmith of Byakkotai or this style was made only for them. I just heard these mountings were made for Byakkotai and the blade too but I'm can't find something to read about it.

Thank you so much for the reply and for the information about the other, I'm searching it!

The Byakkotai tantō is not a familiar term to me either. Authenticating it would likely require sending it to Japan or seeking assistance from forums like the Nihonto Message Board. Providing detailed photos of the blade, rather than the fittings, may yield more information. Dating a tantō, particularly one that is out of polish, can be challenging.
Thank you so much for your message too! It's a little bit strange because I'm keeping the searching and I haven't find nothing until now.
