British English/American English

How would I say a word was either British English or American English (or other english for that matter) origin in Japanese. I know that Japanese for English is Eigo, but if I was to say a word was of American English origin could you use Amerika-go instead of eigo?

I use the words Beikokugo and Igirusugo. They seem to convey the distinction quite nicely to Japanese people.

Academically speaking, British English is "eigo" （英語） and American English is "beigo" （米語）. "Ei" essentially is a kanji that refers to Britain, and "bei" refers to the US.

However, this is not used in ordinary Japanese speech. The difference is emphasized more clearly with "Igirisu-eigo" (English in the UK) and "Amerika-eigo" (English in the US).

Australian English: オーストラリア英語 Ôsutoraria-eigo
e.g.
Philippine English: フィリピン英語 Firipin-eigo
Pilipino: フィリピン語 Firipin-go
