Boston

Hi, I finally arrived in Boston, and after a little more than 1 week, I finally settled down. Now I have two questions:
-Does anyone knows of cheap shops for clothes, video games, etc... or some good place to visit?
-Is there any place I should go to meet people of my age during weekends? The problem is that it's quite difficult to meet people around 23 at my job since most of them are around 35-55...

PS: oh, the USA is quite a good place, although a little expensive when it comes to food.

I'm sorry dreamer san, I cannot help out much. I have gone there twice--both times in summer, of course, and enjoyed the university campus, and the seafood. That's it. Perhaps someone will come along who CAN help. Sorry. MM

It's nice to read your safe arrival in US.

For reasonably priced NON-fancy brand name quality clothes,Target franchise is best bet.Best Buy is electronics superstore chain has weekly sales,any local newspaper Sunday edition has advertisement supplements you can look for bargains.Walmart is where American working class folks shop,merchandise of all sorts are cheaper than anywhere else for real.

US has nationwide Dollar Tree chain stores sell everything for $1.00,there should be a few in Boston area.

Boston is in New England region,there are renovated colonial-styled architectures and tourist attraction colonial townships you can visit.

Hey Dreamer, I've never been to Boston, but in America, you usually can't go wrong with bars and gyms to meet people your age. Of course, it all depends on the kind of people you are hoping to meet...

The only thing I've really heard about Boston from people who've visited/lived there, is the winters get very cold. Bundle up!

Too bad my daughter was there until August!

I've heard that the suburban shopping malls are relatively cheap compared to downtown Boston. Because there are a lot of colleges there, you can find many young people there. I think the most popular hangout is Harvard Square. Lots of good, affordable eats, too.

I'll make sure I pay a visit to all these places. As for young people well it's difficult to speak to them when they're in a group in a pub or so. I've tried that already but usually they seem to get bored very quickly.
As for the Harvard corner, I still think it's a little bit expensive compared to some other areas.
I'll try to go and buy more clothes for winter although I should have brought enough with me.
