Wow, Revenant, it sounds like you got yourself a good job! way to go!
I see here on this thread that teaching English in Japan is almost a sure thing. At least it look like it
As I will be going to japan in April 2012 on MEXT scholarship in Tsu-shi, Mie ken, I would like to know
what are my real chances to find an English teaching part-time job there.
I know that scholarship should be enough for living there but I am taking my wife with me and possibly we could have our children born in Japan. I mean, she's 29, if we stay in Japan for 5 years... I wouldn't wait so much for kids.
Tsu-shi has around 300 000 people and is approximately 80km from nagoya.
I am not a native speaker, but I do speak English very well. I like teaching jobs.
What certificate should I have for that.
I have learned Japanese for 8 years but I'm not good enough to speak it freely. I hope my Japanese language ability would increase dramatically during first six months through intensive language course. I am somewhere between jlpt 2 and 3 now.
My wife doesn't speak English nor Japanese but she is learning now intensively English and less intensively Japanese.
But she would work anything like dish washing in restaurants
I guess my question is: what should my wife and I expect regarding finding secondary job and salary in this area?
thank's in front
