Hey, I'd like to take a bento box to school, but I'm worried about food poisoning and food being spoiled. I have a plastic bento box and I'd like to take salad (Which I know will keep), Beef burgers, Hotdogs (tinned), Chicken nuggets, potato salad and maybe Tamagoyaki. I want to make it the night before and lunch at my school is at about 13:10 and there is no way to refrigerate or microwave my meal before consuming either. So, I was just wondering whether it will keep and any precautions I need to take beforehand.

Can you refrigerate it until you head to school in the morning? If so it should be fine when you eat it for lunch.

You can also get those small reusable gel packs that you throw in the freezer overnight. Put one or two in with your bento (outside the box) and it will keep things from spoiling until lunchtime. Throw the packs back in the freezer when you get home.

In the summer, some people also use an insulated bag to put their lunchbox in.

If you have no fridge or freezer bag, leave out the potato salad.
