Only about 10% of families in China have one child. About 60% families in China have two children, about 30% three children or more than three children. In my town a mother has eleven children.
The One Child policy is only carried out in government units in cities. The units staff salary is given by the government. Being afraid of losing work, they are only able to have one child. If they have two children, they would be dismissed. The dismissal punishment is instead by amercement, many people working in government unit have begun to have two children.
Almost all peasants in China have two or over two children. Government only allows they have one child, but if they pay some money to government, they would be allowed to have two or over two children. A One-Child family is very rare in China's countryside.
A great number of children have been born covertly. These children are not counted by government, they were in No Account of official. To support a larger population, China has already improved its cultivated land productivity maximum. China's population is increasing constantly. The cultivated land area is decreasing constantly.
