Asian horror VS. Hollywood

I don't know if it annoys anybody else that Hollywood isn't able to come up with any original ideas, but it REALLY annoys me. I don't know how many re-makes have been made, but I know of The Ring (Rungu), The Grudge (Ju-On), The Uninvited (Originally, "A Tale of Two Sisters"... being made under a different name so that people don't realise it's a re-make. How pathetic), Pulse, The Eye, One Missed Call (Chakushin Ari... which I completely refuse to watch. The original ringtone... scary as hell. The ringtone in the American one... boring), Battle Royale, Infection, and there are probably loads others.

What I want to know is, do people agree that this should be stopped? In my opinion, the re-makes tend to (for want of a better phrase) royally suck. I think Hollywood should come up with some new ideas and stop ripping off the ideas of Asian masterpieces.

Oh, and in addition, I challenge any Hollywood director to try to get away with re-making Dumplings in America. Good luck with that!
I spy a big fat "BANNED!!!" sign being on that re-make! Hahaha.

If anybody else knows of any horror films that have been titled in such a way so as nobody knows it is a re-make (like The Uninvited for example. Seriously, I'm disgusted), let me know so I can promptly avoid it.

You've got almost all of the movies I know of there.
What about shutter, though? Yep, they've remade that stuff.

I'm agree on stopping this stuff. It makes Hollywood seem so lame... they have no originality anymore.

True. I haven't seen shutter, didn't know they re-made it.

The two most recent horror film releases have been re-makes (The Eye and One Missed Call). What happened to the days when America came up with Nightmare on Elm Street? That was fairly original!
