any shamisen players out there???

Hello, I`m learning to play shamisen from my neighbor. I have a few books from the book store , these help me with lyrics. My neighbor doesn`t read music or have any books, she is teaching me songs from her collection stored in her memory. So far we have played.... Takai yama, sakura, and hina matsuri. I`m wondering if anyone has any good books to suggest or resourses for me to check out.

actually I was hoping to talk with a real person , hoping to find someone else who is learning or is playing shamisen now. I`m a little surprised that no one out there is into shamisen.........

Actually I have been wanting to get into i myself I am just having a lot of trouble finding a place online that actually sells them...
