Any Members in Kagoshima?

I'll be going up there during the first week of August and just wondering if any of the "regulars" are in the area. Does anyone have any suggestions for places to see while I am there or perhaps really good places to eat?

Though I did not live in Kagoshima, I went for a trip sometimes.
A noted product of Kagoshima,
"A black pig","imo shochu","shirokuma" (a white bear),"Satuma_age"

The place that I am out of Kagoshima-shi, and is recommended
"Kirishima Shrine of Kirishima" (a hot spring)
"Sand bath of Ibusuki"
"SAKURAJIMA"
It is 15 minutes by a ferry from Kagoshima port to Sakurajima.

Thank you. Our Kendo team (kids) are going to Kagoshima to represent Okinawa in the Kyushu area tournament. I will not have a lot of time for siteseeing, but will do my best!

If you go with children, I think that Sakurajima is good.
Scenery of lava is splendid.
However, please be careful because a volcano may erupt.
