Hello, I'd like to find out some information about this painting on silk. I know it's a bit old and the painting is done on very delicate silk. I'd love to find out the artists name and potentially the agree. Any help would be appreciated....

The two kanji are 雲峰, which is likely the title. The artist's name would be on the red seal, which I can't see on this iPhone.

If you can get a better picture of the seal someone may be able to help you figure out who the artist is.

It is the artist's name that is written in black, and the red seal is called "rakkan", which is also the artist's name. An artist would "print" his name on his work, then "sign" it by putting his seal below his name.

Now, the name os the artist that appears on the painting you have here, as pointed out by Mike Cash, is 雲峯（UNPOU）. The only Unpou that I've heard of is 大岡雲峯（O-oka Unpou, 1765－1848）, a painter as well as a shogunal vassal from the Edo era. He is famous for his paintings of Chinese-style landscapes/flowers and birds.

I would recommend that you search for the famous Unpou's rakkan to see if it matches the one on the painting you have. I'm sure you know that there are many counterfeits when it comes to works of art, so ultimately, you would have to consult an expert to know for sure its authentcity. Be aware, too, that many artists used multiple rakkans.
