Possible to combine the 2 threads about hurricane Katrina into one? I think this is going to become a much more major news event in the next few weeks and months ahead. I want to follow the thread and having 2 different ones to post to is confusing.

THANKS

Frank

Uncle Frank, I personally think its about time you got access to the merging thingees, you would be great at the job.
I first heard about katrina last night, and boy was I left flabbagasted, I really feel for all of those people. Does anybody else think its strange that in the last 2-3 years there have been an aprise in Natural disasters? Is it possible that this is a slow way of deteriorating the world as we know it? Is the end actually near????
I even had bad dreams of Korea being in a large natural disaster, but for some reason I survived. I think that I would like to die should I be in the vicinity of such a thing. It would just mess me up too much having to see such sorrow surrounding me.

I merged them and put them in the American Issues section.

Frank was offered the power to do things like that, but I don't think he wanted to... :(

I'll admit......

I have a fear of joining anything, or having power over anything; even gave up my membership to the NRA and I am the king of gun nuts?
Thanks for putting the 2 threads togeather for me Kirei!!

Frank

Hi folks !

Regarding "Katrina" - I am totally flabbergasted ('dats a good English woid ...!) that so many folks in the US seem to be so behind on the news from New Orleans!

I watch CNN and the BBC World News all the time - has American Network TV really being downplaying this thing that much ?

Just askin'

I've been having to follow it via the internet due to my lack of a television. Aside from that I've gotten some reports from near the front lines, but I guess I'm a bit more connected to the story than some others. But I know that even ESPN has covered it pretty seriously, because I happened to catch a bit of the coverage from outside my neighbor's window the other night. I don't know about the syndications, though.
