Hello everyone! I found this forum a couple days ago and have been looking around....it seems like a really good place to learn with a lot of friendly, welcoming people!

My name is John but most people call me Jeff or Boven. I'm 31 and live in Tampa, Florida. Right now I'm in Iraq for a year, and I've decided that once I'm done here I'm going to treat myself to a trip to Tokyo, so I've started learning the language and as much about the culture as I can.

I'm looking forward to learning from everyones experences and knowledge!

From the roof of Japan, where the snow still lingers on the high peaks of the grand Japan Alps, the stairways to heaven, I send you my greetings and a big WELCOME to JREF !!

Hang out with us and get to know us all, and how things work and all, and I'm sure you'll have a great time too ! Please do check out the whole forum, and make yourself right at home.

As a suggestion (since it is the policy and rule of the forum), if you are physically in Iraq at the moment, it would be proper to attach that flag to your profile, rather than the USA flag. You can type in 'US citizen' or 'American' or whatever, if you wish to show your nationality, yet the flag space is to show where a person physcially is. Thanks !

I hope to talk to you later ! MM
