Adding a buddy problem

Hello. For some reason i cant add herbalﾂ≫┐ as a buddy. The following shows up.

The user 'herbalﾂ≫┐' was not found in the database. Please go back and correct this problem. You may want to check out the member list.

I checked the member list and of course hes on it so im not sure why its doing this. If it helps ive been able to add other names to my list so....

I experimented and tried to add him to my buddy list, too, and was rejected in exactly the same way your were. I think it's because the star in his name is not a standard ascii character. (I think the "Herbal" part is regular ascii, but the star is from the Japanese typeset.)

Unless someone more knowledgeable comes to address your problem, I think the best way to address the issue would be for Herbalﾂ≫┐ to change his username to something more "buddy list friendly".

Thats what i guessed too. I knew it was the star haha but someone else has used Herbal without the star so..... no using that.
Well all i can do is wait and see haha. Thanks alot anyway

The best thing is to write down only Herbal (without the star) and than his name (with the star) should automatically pop-up.

I tried that. Imputting the name by this method was rejected also.

Try this !

Find a post by Herbal and click on his user name. A box should pop up with 4 choices, view profile, view more posts,send a PM, and the last ADD TO BUDDY LIST is there.
Click on that and it should work OK.

I did not hit the final click to add; just tried that and it did reject it?

Ok just tried to add Herbal to my Buddy list, and it worked, also was able to delete name from Buddy list. Reckon change of username solved the problem.

Ere Uncle Frank, you be careful with that PC of yours you using as an Avatar, dont you blow it up, dont you know there are more than 105 different keys on a keyboard, you need to press more than just two keys when you typing, your PC may crash if you not careful...................

Well, it was the star in his name. Because after removing his star I could add him to my list as well.
