A question for the male foreigners

Being a stranger in a strange land surely brings with it an excitement that can last a long time. But it also brings inconveniences and troubles.

Question: Gentlemen, what issues have you faced at the workplace and
in Japanese society in general?

Please say what kind of work you doing in Japan.

Oh lordie, my man you shoudl just read some of Maciamo's posts and you will get a full blow by blow on that question. However, that is only one man's experience yours might be different and not so frustrating.
Bare in mind that the Japanese think their way is the best way to do things.
They don't say NO to you directly, they avoide that with some kind of excuses. You will have to see that on your own. I think that excellent knowledge of the language will help you in most of your endevours there.
I myself will go there in April again and stay for 3 months enrolled in a Japanese language school. In the meantime I have to see about some business also, so I have the same problem like you. We'll see what the future brings, hopefully something good .

If we're only discussing gender related issues...

Well...

Some people might assume (as a male) the following apply to you:

1. You are capable of drinking massive amounts of alcohol.
2. You have a large dong.

Some people also have superficial attractions to foreigners because, well, they're foreign. Certain preconceived concepts about your.. uh.. sexual prowess could be a factor...

Then again, MOST Japanese people I know treat me like all people who know me. Whatever superficial conceptions you run into, they'll disappear once you step beyond the realm of casual acquaintance and into true friendship.
