Hello,

I am doing a report for my Japanese class about the atomic bomb "Little Boy". I need help translating the word for Little Boy into Japanese. I used google translate and it gave me it as" Chisana Otokonoko"; is this correct? How would the japanese characters look in Katakana? Or is there a special name for the bomb in Japan? Additionally, is it a sensitive topic to talk about in current day japan (particulary the youth)?

Thank you!

The name was not translated. It is mentioned as 'Little Boy' when one needs to explain how the bomb was called in US, but the name is not so well-known in Japan. Most people just call it genshi-bakudan (atomic bomb) or gen-baku for short.
It is not particularly a sensitive topic, but it really depends how you handle the topic and the tone you talk about it.

Oh, so it is not translated. Thank you very much for answering my questions!
