A little experiment.

So as you all may remember, when i started out here, i was generally smart for my age and respectful.


But its hard for a teen to keep that.


The second i started slipping, @mdchachi was up my *** about it. I'm not trynna be disrespectful about it, but its true.


My conclusion is that if people introduce themselves to be more mature than their age suggests, people will forget that they are teens and will hold them to a level of perfectionism that is unhealthy for some people.

It saddens me to see the dynamic that has evolved between you two, and I would hate to see it escalate further.

All I can really say is that whenever you go out to a public space like this where people of different backgrounds gather to discuss things, you should always expect that people will disagree with you. That's true for everyone, not just you specifically. Regardless of age, the only thing we really know about each other on this anonymous forum is what we post. None of us are perfect, but it helps to assume that people will disagree with you and not take offense by it.

Many opinions people have are complex, and there is only so much time and space to type out one's opinion. It could be that they globally share your worldview but not on specific issues. There's nothing wrong by that. Ideally we learn from each other by discussing discordant ideas.

In my life, I've been in a lot of debates or arguments where it turns out that we agreed on at least 95% of what we were saying but didn't like how the other person was saying it. And so it was only a matter of semantics that was the difference between us.

Other times, you can be perfectly correct in what you're saying but still be wrong. If you're not dating already, just wait for it. It took me years to learn this lesson the hard way.

So I suppose in conclusion, sometimes it's just best to let things go. Or maybe wait to reply until you've cooled down. Yes, you're a teenager, but you're a person with agency. You can't control what other people do and say, but you do have control over yourself. If you don't like someone's response to something you've posted, try ignoring it.
