So working on a translation and came across the phrase 顔痛の種子, "seeds of facial pain" a weird literal translation to me. Here's the rest of the sentence for context, 当戦争において戦略上日本軍部の顔痛の種子は即ち日本の重工業は米国爆撃機の廻航圏内にあるに反して、米国の主要工業地は日本の飛行機には届かない事なのです。I believe they're using the phrase for something like "thorn in the side" or "pain in the ***", something along those lines.
I did a preliminary search to see if 顔痛の種子 was a expression in Japanese but I didn't really find anything useful other than medical links for face pain or plant related results haha. Is it just bad Japanese on the part of the authors or maybe some corruption of an expression from Japanese to English to Japanese again?
