はじめました!
私はカルビンだ、サンディエゴ市で住みます。

Nice to meet you all!
I'm Calvin, and I live in San Diego.

I am a self-teaching Japanese student, and have a long way to go. My motivation for learning came from my childhood friend, who spoke Japanese (coincidentally so did her sister, mother, and father. Strange, ね?) and introduced me to things like 10 cent instant ramen and sitting on the floor while trying to break one's legs. From then on I always had a desire to learn Japanese.

Anyway, I decided to start studying for the hell of it. I picked up a copy of Remembering the Kanji and started reading sites like Tae Kim's and other info I could find on zee internets. I got some grammar guides and am now able to say such magical sentences as 「明日は月曜日です」 and 「コーヒー好きだ」. When I entered my current highschool, I found a plethora of オタク who were just dying to learn Japanese. Nothing wrong with that, as long as they're serious about learning. We've been practicing our kanji/ pronunciation/ etc since then.

I really can't think of anything more to say, its about 0:50 here and I'm about to pass out. Better put on another pot of coffee.

Welcome to the Forum, Calvin!

Have fun & good luck! 🙂

Oh, BTW, it's 窶堙坂?堋カ窶堙溪?堙懌?堋オ窶堙Ъ/COLOR] and ニ探ニ停?愴断ニ達ニ竪ニ担ナスs窶堙閏/COLOR]ツ住窶堙ア窶堙??堋「窶堙懌?堋キ. Also, I would go with ニ谷ニ停?ケニ池ニ停?懌?堙??堋キ instead of ニ谷ニ停?ケニ池ニ停?懌?堋セ.

I guess that's what happens after you've been awake for 26 hours straight. Yay! I feel like an idiot. Well, thank you for welcoming me!

Hello and welcome, Calvin. Welcome to the site and enjoy your stay at Jref. I'm also teaching myself in Japanese, I have a step-by-step work book and a English-Japanese Japanese-English dictionary. I still have a long way to go, though.
