Hi,

1. The discussion is about 成人式.

女: 主催者にしてみたら、せっかくの祝いの席で大声 で注意したくはないでしょうしね。
男: そうだろうね。だから、式に参加している同じ年 代の若者が注意しなきゃだめだと思うんだ。

My attempted translation:

Woman: "Besides, the organisers probably don't want to caution (people to behave sensibly) too strongly on the occasion of such a long-awaited celebration."
Man: "You're probably right. Therefore, I think a whole group of young people of the same age, who are participating at the ceremony, have to be careful."

Is this correct? I am slightly concerned that my だから = "therefore" does not seem to fully make sense in context. It seems more likely that they would have to be careful if the organisers *did* caution them strongly, not if they didn't. I feel I am misunderstanding the point, possibly the meaning and/or subject of the two 注意する.

2. Next line:

女: へえ、先輩って意外としっかりしているんですね 。お酒好きだから、騒ぐグループかなって思ってたんですけど。見直しちゃった。

My translation: "Hey, you're more sensible than I (= 先輩) thought. You all enjoy a drink, so I thought it would be a rowdy group. I've revised my opinion!"

OK?

3. Next line:

男: 何言ってるんだ。こう見えても、いざって時には ちゃんとやるんだから。

I'm afraid I have no idea what this means, except I think the last bit is about behaving properly.

4. 世間知らずのその男は、恥ずかしさで顔を赤らめた。

Translation given: "The naive man blushed with shame."

What is the grammar of の? Would 世間知らずその男 make sense?

1)
大声で literally means "with a loud voice".
The two subjects are correct, but the latter 注意する means "to caution", too.
Young people must caution rowdy people by themselves.

2)
先輩 refers to "you", not "I".

3)
What are you saying? I may not look it, but I get it right when the need arises.

4)
世間知らず is a noun/the stem of an adjective. 世間知らずな also can be used.

2. Yeah, sorry, 先輩 is "you". I messed up my notes and pasted "(= 先輩) " in the wrong place. I'm assuming that って in 先輩って is a bit like は. Is that right?

3. Could you explain what いざって is?
