なら is more likely a topic marker, but yes, その子 is the subject in that sentence.
 
This is said by another random villager roaming around the town:
たきのほうへ いったひとたちが みんな かえってこないの. ばけものが いるって はなしよ. そういえば アカハナっていう ガメツイおっさんも たきへいったきり もどってこないわねえ.

My parse attempt:
滝の方へ行った人達が皆反ってこないの。化け物がいるって 話よ。そういえばアカハナっていうガメツイおっさんも 滝へ行ったきりもど戻ってこないわねえ。

And now my attempt at translation:
We all came from the direction of the waterfall and we won't go back, we hear there are monsters there. On that subject, a greedy middle aged man (or monk?) went to the waterfall and won't come back.

戻ってこない (もど is unnecessary.)

It's 人達, not 私達.
おっさん can't mean "monk". Monk is おしょうさん.
戻ってこない is not future. It means "haven't come back yet".
 
Also, isn't たきのほうへ いったひとたちが みんな かえってこないの not future too?

On a side note, I'm curious, is the speaker a girl?

Take a look at my revised translation, if it's correct it may clear up your confusion, I just think of both those verbs as "non-past" tense, which included both present and future.

The もど before 戻 was a typo, sorry about that. I have to use an awkward online on-screen keyboard to type and parse Japanese text because my Windows IME has died.

The speaker must be a woman rather than a girl because of わねえ.

I'm talking about your translation. The translation of 人達 can't be "we" even if it's 滝の方から来た人達.
 
Ok, thanks, it all makes sense now.

An old man says this: このまちのうらないしはとてもよくあたるぞ!よくやすむってのがたまにきずだけど。
My parse attempt: この町の占師はとてもよく当たるぞ!よく休むってのが珠に疵だけど。

My only issues are with the last sentence. I know that 珠に疵 is an idiom meaning "flaw in the crystal/fly in the ointment", but よく休む is the difficult one, to rest well? It's just not making sense to me.

I have found たまにきず written several different ways with different kanji, I assume there isn't one specifically correct way and people can just use whatever they feel like? That's the impression I get from seeing these various ways to write it.
 
玉 means "gem/jewel" in this case, on the other hand 珠 is for pearl or ball.
瑕 is the same meaning as 傷, but this phrase is originally from a Chinese word 玉瑕, so 玉に瑕 is the correct kanji.

This sentence is said by the guard outside the queen's throne room.

じょうおうさまにごぶれいなきように。
女王様に御無礼なきように。

It's the なきように that's confusing me, I suspect something has been omitted from the end, some form of する perhaps. I think the き may be 気 since 無礼 is a な adjective. To me it looks like 女王様に御無礼な気ようにするな, "make sure you aren't rude to the queen."

Am I anywhere close?
 
The translation is correct, but it's 女王様に御無礼なきようにしなさい.
なき is the attributive form of a classical adjective なし. Classical language is used to add solemn emphasis to the words. You can think it's 御無礼が/のないように in modern Japanese.
～するように/しないように is often used at the end of the sentence as an order to do/not to do, e.g., 明日までに宿題を提出するように / 芝生に入らないように.

One of the queens maids says this:
ちょっと じゃますんじゃないよっ！じょおうさまに おだしする りょうりのメニューを かんがえてんだから！
ちょっと邪魔すんじゃないよっ！女王様にお出しする料理のメニューを考えてんだから！

じょおう may be spelled wrong, but that's how they keep spelling it in the game.

The first thing that I can't work out is すん, is this a classical form of する?
Next is 考えて, it's confusing me because I would expect 考えている or some version of that form.
 
じょおう is correct (furigana).

すんじゃない = するんじゃない
考えてんだ = 考えているんだ

Another one that's quite common is なにやってんだ！（何をやっているんですか！）Not classical, just abbreviated.
 
Yeah, not classical, but colloquial/slangy. She uses rough speeches.

じょおうさまは ときどき へやから いなくなるの。だれにも きづかれずに どうやって でていかれるのかしら。
女王様は時々部屋からいなくなるの。だれにも気付かれずにどうやって出ていかれるのかしら。

The only part I'm having trouble understanding is だれにも, but I think the "with the best of them" meaning is being used.
 
誰にも気付かれず: without being noticed by anyone (誰も for "anyone", with a に spliced in to indicate the agent of the passive verb)

This is the first part of what the queen says:
わらわが ポートアの じょおうなるぞえ。そなたかえ？サブレやまを こえてきたという でんせつの せんしは。。。
妾がポートアの女王なるぞえ。そなたかえ？サブレ山を越てきたという伝説の戦士は。。。

I don't quite know what to make of that なる, also is かえ a classical form of か?
 
You can think なるぞ is the same as であるぞ.
Yes for かえ, and also ぞえ.
 
越えてきたという is confusinng me now, I've never seen という used with a verb before it, it's always been nouns. The only thing I can think of is it being used like "said to have", as in "the legendary warrior said to have come through Sabure Mountain."

という shows that the preceding clause/phrase is hearsay there, thus, it adds the meaning "they say/I heard" to the modifying clause. So, yes, it means "the legendary warrior who is said to have come through Sabure Mountain".

I do find that last sentence tricky, I'm not sure it's right.
 
おくれ is a gentle/tender imperative form of くれる, so yes, your interpretation is correct.

The queen then saays: 町の様子はどうじゃ？ポートアの美しさはわらわの誇りじゃ。好きなだけいるがいい。

How is this translation: How do you like the look of my town? Potoa's beauty is my pride. You may stay as long as you like.

It's that last sentence that confuses me the most.
 
Earlier Ianthas said <verb>がいい is closer to a threat than a suggestion. But I just don't see how it can be a threat.
