Hi,

Does anyone know what is the difference between なる and なってやる

For example:

1. 絶対に金持ちになる
2. 絶対に金持ちになってやる

Also, is it possible to put やる after any verbs?

なる vs なってやる

Have you learned the giving/receiving verbs yet?

やる
あげる
さしあげる
くれる
くださる
もらう
いただく

It also can express the speaker's strong will to become rich, often in the context of revenge or for getting their own back.

Thanks tori, this is what I haven't learned :)

Would it be weird to say やってやる?

For example,
テニスをやってやる (My strong will of playing tennis?)

I hear 殺してやる quite often in old beat-em-up anime.

I have heard やってやる used before. It seems to turn the action into a statement of great confidence.

It's not weird but there must be some story behind it other than just the strong will, for instance, you are not allowed to play tennis for some reason, but nevertheless, you are going to do it.
