1. もし４時間が長ければ、幕見席という座席があります。 一幕だけ８００円～１２００円という値段で少しだけ歌 舞伎を楽しむことも出来ますよ。

My translation: "If four hours is (too) long, then "幕見席" seats are available. With one-act-only (tickets) priced at 800 to 1200 yen, it's also possible to enjoy just a small part of the kabuki performance."

What is the grammatical function of で? Is it the copula forming an implied construction 幕見席は・・・だ? Does it mean that you can enjoy part of the performance *by means of* these low-price tickets? Something else?


2. In an email, the writer has been describing various things that she and the addressee's mother plan to do when the latter visits Tokyo. Then:

何だか今から楽しみです。

I suppose I get the general idea that the writer is looking forward to the visit, but I don't get the exact nuance, e.g. of 何だか. What would be the best way to translate this?


3. This is also at the end of the same email:

そうそう、歌舞伎の公演中は写真を撮ってはいけません 。

I understand "You're not allowed to take photographs during the kabuki performance", but does そうそう have a sense like "let me quickly tell you this before I sign off", or is it describing some aspect of the ban on photography?


4. 舞台正面の端に休憩時間が出ます。

This is apparently an announcement made at the interval of a kabuki performance. I assume 休憩時間が出ます means "the interval (now) starts", but what is 舞台正面の端に? I cannot seem to find a combination of meanings that makes much sense...

何だか is not negative feelings here. It has a softening effect.

1) What is the purpose of 少しだけ? I thought it was referring to a small part of the kabuki performance, but now I am thinking that may be wrong.

4) Sorry, I don't get it. I thought 休憩時間 meant "interval" (i.e. break in the performance), but how do you "display" an interval? I cannot visualise what is going on ... maybe there is a sign at the front of the stage ???

休憩時間 means "the start and end time of the interval" in this case, and it's displayed at the edge/wing of the stage (probably the time is written on a banner).

OK, thanks. There is one more question I have about (1). Does the following make sense?

もし４時間が長ければ、幕見席という座席があります。 一幕だけ８００円～１２００円という値段です。

一幕だけ sounds awkward or at least vague. It seems to mean that there is a specific stage of ８００円～１２００円. It should be something like 見えるのは 一幕だけで for the original meaning in the example sentence.
