People character and its significance in building a highly developed society

Many Chinese forumers seem to have misinterprested some of my view points regarding Chinese-Japanese relationship. I hope this thread will provide a better understanding of the bases for many of my arguments.
First of all, what do I mean by People Quality?
I tend to bring up this term many times and I've come to realize that the proper term I was looking for is "People Character". Some important people character include integrity, loyalty, bravery, honesty, indenpendence, punctuality, cleanliness...etc. (Note when I refer to people charater it has nothing to do with the skin color of that person nor the genetic make up of that person)
Then the next quesiton would be: How does people character influence the build up and fuctioning of a society? Just as a person has his/her own people character, a society also has a people Charater and it is those characters
that define the society and how others look at this society. What makes a country great is not determined by it's size, military power, or economical power, it is determined by it's people's character. This is the real power of a nation. This is what makes a nation strong and respectable.
Now I hope the definition have cleared up some confusion and misunderstanding that I've caused. Now let me elaborate more on subject of human equality and the way to attain true human equality.
Human are not born equal. We are born with different mental and physical capabilities just as all life forms on Earth do. Most importnatly we are born in different environment with different social surroundings.
The very social values and social structures we human created have also "categorized" us into different groups. We are born into different families and subsequently our living environment which greatly influence what kind of people we will later become will be different too. Biologically, yes we are different. However, any social ideologies should not and do not have the right to "categorize" people.
I am a simple person, I fancy freedom of speech, high quality of living, highly developed society. Basically anything that makes my life easier I welcome them with both hands. Nationalism, patriotism, and racism is nothing more than political/social manipulations in the attempt to further dvidie us human beings. When I visited Yasukuni Shrine, I was utterly disgusted to see all those young lives wasted in the name of patriatism and nationalism. what I believe in is a social ideology that strives to attain equality for all humans.
So how do I related my belief on equality for all human relate to Japan's WWII actions?
There is no doubt what Japan did in WWII was against all moral reasoning and the human death toll was something regretable. Regretable "only" in the biological and moral sense. I do think it was a necessary and an unavoidable path to attain human equality which unfortunately had to be carried out in the form of war. Were the human sacrifice done by Japan in the name of attaining human equality? I don't think so. However, it is an essential element in achieving social equilibrium between two distince social units (given that there exist a gap between the two units). What do Korea/Taiwan/ Okinawa /HK/Macao have in common? People living in those areas are experiencing a higher quality of life compared to China. What made the difference? The answer is simple: The all had interactions with a more developed social unit and equilibrium process took place. At the beginning of interactions, disturbance is bound to occure, which are sometimes represented in the form of human death. Theoretically, given enough interaction time, two distinct social units will eventually reach the state of equilibrium and the two will share the same People Character and hence the same quality of life.
Sure we can spend all the time we want on debating how many people were perished in Nanking or how many were perished from the atom bombs, who should apologize....blah blah blah. I find such debate rather short sighted and serve no practical meaning except venting one's anger onto others. Historical facts are nothing more than sample data used for deriving the final outcome of a social event. They are infact, just input parameters for constructing a model.
Enlarge your narrow time frame, look at the big pictures. We are not thinking in terms of months, years, or decades but centuries. Fluctuations are due to occure when any major social events take place and it is the outcome, or the long term effect that interest me. I also believe that it's the long term effect of a social event that are worth discussing for that they represent the stable and final outcome that shapes the world we live in.
