Tanizakura's Hiyaorohi comes clear with a faint lemon-green tint. The aroma is dominated by rice, with sweet and clean notes alongside hints of dried fruit, light acidity and a mellow alcoholic presence. There are also subtle herbal tones—smooth texture and medium to full body.
A firm, dry alcohol character emerges immediately, accompanied by only minimal underlying rice sweetness. Flavours of marzipan, pickled vegetables such as narazuke (奈良漬け), and a slight bitterness appear alongside the dry, rice-derived alcohol notes. The finish is short and clean, leaving a faint aftertaste of steamed rice. Overall, it is a weighty, dry sake with restrained sweetness, balanced by a smooth texture and straightforward character.
