Kōchi Brewery in Ino in the Agawa District of Kōchi Prefecture, on the banks of the picturesque Niyodo River (仁淀川), was established in 1944 when 28 sake breweries in Kōchi, Nagaoka, Agawa, and Tosa were merged due to the chaotic situation in the final days of the Second World War. The brewery uses water from the crystal-clear Niyodo River, which the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism highly rated in water quality surveys. Takiarashi (瀧嵐) is one of the representative sake brands of Kōchi Shuzō.
