Kinunomine Junmai Daiginjō Muroka Namagenshu (絹乃峰純米大吟醸無濾過生原酒) uses locally grown Koshihikari rice milled to 40%. It has a mild aroma with notes of banana and plum, based on the delicious taste of Koshihikari. Best consumed chilled or on the rocks in a wine glass. Recommended food pairings are salmon roe, teppanyaki, steak, yakitori, oden, etc. The umami taste goes well with deep flavours.

The brewery prospered for many years as a subcontractor to significant sake brewers. From the late 1980s, many breweries began to strengthen their own production facilities and no longer needed to buy sake from subcontractors. Like many other small sake breweries, the Akana Shuzo turned unviable. The brewery's real estate was purchased by the then-Akarai township and turned into a town-owned property.
After ten years of volunteer management, poor sales led to the company trading raw sake from other companies with small production. Eventually, the brewery stopped its operations. New administration established Akana Brewery Co., renovating the ageing brewery and re-establishing it as a junmai kura, producing only junmai sake, mainly from high-quality Iinan-machi rice. In 2016, Akana started to export sake to Thailand.
