help with a short inscription on a sword please

i have a Japanese Diplomatic sword. There is an inscription on it. I was told it has something to do with who owned it or presented it. Any help with the inscription is appreciated. Hopefully it is clear enough, i took 2 pictures and cropped/enlarged them Thanks Mark
