Mori Art Museum

Ron Mueck is an Australian-born sculptor known for his hyperrealistic human figures, often created on either an enormous or miniature scale. Using materials such as silicone and synthetic hair, he produces sculptures that appear strikingly lifelike yet convey a subtly unsettling psychological intensity. His works frequently deal with themes of vulnerability, isolation and mortality. The current exhibition at Mori Art Museum presents several major works spanning nearly three decades. Highlights include the giant In Bed (2005) and Mass (2016–2017), an installation of 100 oversized skulls that fills an entire gallery space.
