Taikomon Yagura (太鼓門櫓) – Drum Gate Tower and Connecting Turret — Important Cultural Property — Momoyama period

Designated an Important Cultural Property on 22 September 1951, the Taikomon Yagura guarded the main entrance to the Honmaru (本丸), the castle's central enclosure. The gate tower was relocated from another castle during the construction of Hikone Castle. Unusually for a yaguramon (櫓門), its rear side is open and connected to a railed corridor, forming a distinctive defensive structure within the castle complex.
