Daizen-ji (大善寺), a temple of the Shingon sect (真言宗) in Kōshū, Yamanashi: here votive labels and donor inscriptions, often called senjafuda (千社札) or, more broadly, ofuda-like name slips (納札・名札). Originally, senjafuda were paper slips left by pilgrims to record their visits to temples or shrines. Over time, especially from the Edo period (江戸時代), they also became a way for individuals, confraternities, or local groups to leave their names, sometimes in highly stylised calligraphy.
