士道は、恐らく上空から一部始終を見ているであろう琴里に睨みをくれやってから道なりを戻っていった。

Hi. I have read some explanations about the usage of くれてやる. Is it the same as あげる? Or is there any difference between くれてやる and あげる?

Thank you.

You wrote くれやって in your example sentence, but you asked about くれてやる. Does that mean it's simply a typo of くれやって?

Anyway, くれてやる is an insulting version of やる. The meaning "to give" is indeed the same as あげる, but the nuance/usage is totally different.

Thank you.

Yes. Sorry. I should have typed more carefully.

So the difference between てやる and てあげる is that the former is used when you talk to someone who is younger or inferior to you while the latter is to someone who is of the same status as you, right?

Yes, but くれてやる is not the same as ~てやる. It's a variation of やる as a verb "to give", as I wrote, not an auxiliary verb やる "to give a favor of doing", which is attached to the -te form of verbs. くれてやる doesn't work as an auxiliary verb ~てくれてやる.

Actually, くれてやる performs as a single verb, not "-te form of くれる + やる", even though the etymology is so. In fact, くれてあげる, くれてもらう or くれてくれる are not used.
