I searching for my pen-pal in the 80s. She was from Arai-city in Niigata.
It would be great to find her again after all this years. I hope someone who recognize her can help me.

With the little information you gave it's a shot in the dark but this website mentions a Yoshihara Yuriko (吉原百合子) as the head of the planning office at the Niigata University of International and Information Studies' Chuo Campus.

The office has a Facebook site with contact information including an email address. It's something you could try.

I have some more information. She was born 1962, ** **. Her school was Takada Business senior high school.

There are at least two high schools of the same name in Japan, one is in Niigata Prefecture, and another is in Nara Prefecture. Don't you know her kanji name? The family name Yoshihara and given name Yuriko are both very common.

I don´t have her kanji name but I have her address from the 80s. *-**, Hakusancho, *-chome, Arai-city, Niigata, 944 Japan.

Google Maps says that Hakusancho now belongs to Myoko City. The address would be * Chome-*-** Hakusanchō, Myōkō-shi, Niigata-ken 944-0047. From there it's a 50 min. commute to Takada High School in Joetsu City.

If that constellation seems likely you could try contacting the high school. Phone numbers and email address are on the website: 新潟県立高田高等学校

The name plate above the door has been blurred by google, but I don't think it is Yoshihara.

Is Yoshihara her own name, or the name of her husband? In any case, you should consider that her last name might now be different.

Yes, Hakusan Town, Arai City is the present Hakusan Town, Myōkō City. Arai City merged with Myōkōkōgen Town and Myōkō Village to form Myōkō City in 2005.
Takada Business Senior High School is 高田商業高等学校, not 高田高等学校. You can ask the High School about her but they wouldn't answer because of the Personal Information Protection Law.
I googled and found that the family who lived at the address was 梅村 Umemura at least in 2012. It's indeed possible that she got married, changed her surname and still lives there, but I think the possibility is low.

Could the OP ask the school to send her contact information to the Yoshihara family (at the last known address)? Or maybe she could ask to get in touch with the schools alumni association.

That's the school by the way: 新潟県立高田商業高等学校公式WEB

Phone and Fax only. No email address.

Do you have any other suggestion what I should do? Are there any other websites I could look for her?
I´m not comfortable to call the school.

If you really want to make contact with her, the best solution is to hire a professional detective service.
By the way, I removed some information about her since it's personal information. Thanks for your understanding.

Most likely they wouldn't accept it.
