Hallo ^_^
I was seeking Japanese hieroglyph for the concept Amae and I found it ,,
Amae – 甘え" is it correct?? Does this hieroglyph really mean Amae??

甘え is most common, but it also can be 甘エ, あまえ, アマエ, 甘ゑ, 甘ヱ, あまゑ, アマヱ,,,,.

Thanks for reply Toritorible ^_^
So can you exactly explain: what other meanings have this hieroglyph?? Just amae?? Because, when I use translate.google.. it says: emotional dependence.. As I know amae includes in itself emotional and not only this kind ,,dependence".. so.. little bit clearer if you can, please :)

What part of the page do you think says so?

Amae includes in itself emotional and not only this kind ,,dependence", as you said.

oh. I've read a lot of issues about Amae. for example: T. Doi's works, Anna Werzbicka's book, Yamaguchi's and others researches.. Of course I know that there is some difficulties for me as westerners to understood the core meaning of this concept but I just try :) Because I'm too interested in it and maybe I'll work on this theme after a while.. But for now I just wanted to be sure, that this hieroglyph really really, for sure means Amae.. :)

You don't trust in Wikipedia at all, nevertheless you trust a stranger on the web... Hmmm...

Yes, I do ^_^ because I don't think that this stranger has time and desire to loose the time for lying somebody.. I don't see the purpose :) And also, this was the question about amae.. and as I realized after all what I've read, It is the kind phenomenon and why would somebody read the question and desired to lie..
I would never do so.. There is not any need of it ^_^

You seem to be a supporter of Mencius, not Xunzi.

None of them were familiar to me.. I'm from Caucasian Region, of course this isn't good argument for not knowing about these philosophers, but here is different moral lows and rights.. One of them sounds like this: behave to others as you want to be behaved.. well, not for everybody of course, but for me - yes.
p.s. some minutes ago I've found that you are staff member, so that is another argument, that you wouldn't lied ^^
