I just pray he will learn how to give direct answers to direct questions rather than use them as springboards to launch straw men on tangents that read like Zen riddles.
Never said you did. You're driving up the price of straw men considerably, you know.
So why aren't you a monk?
Mike Cash said:I don't like it when people post ostensibly asking for practical advice and then it turns out they're just whiny-assed drama queens who get off on having something to ***** about and a public forum to do it in.Thor said:Could you do me a favor and explain why you're talking down to me? Must I be ridiculed by you simply because I expressed how frustrated I am? i don't like the way you're taking to me, could you review what you've said and determine whether or not it's even remotely justifiable?
It would be nice if you could answer questions in a straightforward manner instead of always going off on melodramatic tangents and erecting straw men to knock down.
I have no intention of getting into some drawn-out PM exchange which would only serve to feed your poor-me drama queen victim mentality, so you needn't bother typing up a private reply to this; it will be ignored.
Hi Mike Cash. I'm a really patient person. I take being sworn at with a smile on my face, and I consider myself an awfully forgiving person. I thought having a one-to-one chat in private could decrease this animosity you have towards me(It has worked in the past with others). However, you have told me you would not respond again, so what else can I do but take this to the thread from which it branched out of? I'm sure you understand that reasoning well enough as you've always seemed as though you were an articulate and reasonable man!
My boss swears at me. He does the bare minimum work he can without pissing off the higher-ups off. I work myself half to death every shift and he makes up some bullshit to degrade me with. A simple "good job" would suffice, so that it is at least acknowledged that I am not slacking off. But n, he swears at me and pisses on the hard work that I do. I'm not some sort of victim. I am merely trapped in a situation that I cannot do anything about at the moment.
Some of my co-workers try my patience. There is a fine line between joking with me about something silly or giving me an absurd nickname(Which hasn't occurred), and telling customers that I am having sex with a co-worker & that we are kissing cousins. What sort of trash says that crap? I'm serious here. There is a fine line between joking with me about it, and telling customers. I wish it were the former that was occurring, as I wouldn't have a complaint about it. But, beyond telling them to knock it off, what am I to do? The biggest thing is that I know what I need to do, and that this thread is merely to get this crap off my chest where I wouldn't be harassed or called some vile nonsense along the lines of "whiny-assed drama queen". Whatever, it's fine. I will work tirelessly towards ensuring all of my future posts will not annoy the great and benevolent Mike Cash.
You could try being a home care person. You work alone out on the edge; kind of your own boss. The pay is pitiful , probably less than a monk makes , LOL. You pray a lot ! Pray your patient doesn't die while you are with him. Pray he doesn't fall and pray you don't pull or strain something so you can't work. The benefits are , you sleep good nights , knowing you are helping someone who needs help baddly. Keeping a person in their own home and out of the nurseing home or hospital seems like something a kindly monk might do. Lord knows, we sure need more people in the homecare field with our ageing population.

That's not a bad idea, Uncle Frank. How does one go about getting into such a field? I imagine it probably involves nursing school, right?
