Definition Translation Check

I just want to be sure I've got this accurate:

１ 木・石・土・金属などで作った像。(a statue made of wood, stone, earth, or metal.)

２ 神仏をかたどった、信仰の対象となる像。(a statue that's the object of faith/belief, that takes the shape of the gods/Buddha.)

３ あこがれや崇拝の対象となるもの。「若者の―」(someo ne(thing) that's the object of adoration or admiration. "an idol of the youth")

I'm wondering if "clay" would be better for 土, but it seems like it should be 粘土 if it actually is "clay". They don't shoot for rhythm in definitions, do they? Also, well, I think I've got the rest of it right, but I'm wondering if maybe there were some better ideas. For instance, 信仰 for instance as "faith/belief" seems OK, but I wonder if it could be better. And any other ideas on just how to phrase 若者の偶像? Any other suggestions welcome.

What comes to MY mind is "worship". I realize that there is a slight difference in the meaning but I think it is appropriate in this context.

As for "土", it usually means clay when we say 土 as a material for pottery, earthenware, porcelain, etc.

Hmm, I thought about "worship" at first, but it seems a bit stronger than 信仰. Although, it does make more sense as an English word in that sentence.

Thanks for the tip on 土. I'll make that change.
