Meaning of 呼吸に

If possible, please, kindly help me to translate following sentence:

普段通りの何てことのないこのアナウンスを聞いて、どれだけのひとが呼吸に苦しむような緊張を感じることがあるのだろう。

Especially I can not understand meaning of 呼吸に and ような.
I could translate this sentence as

It was not the announcement for usual (expected) street - perhaps many peoples, while breathing, felt worry.

But I am not sure if my translation is correct.

I wonder how many people feel so tense that they have trouble breathing while hearing this ordinary announcement as usual.


呼吸に苦しむ: to have trouble breathing
ような: like/as

通[どお]り means not "street" but "as~" here.

Exactly. 何てことのない is a colloquial form of 何ということのない or 平凡な.

Oh, if possible, may I ask a little bit more. I have tried to find literal translation for 何ということのない. But, unfortunately, for me it is something like "何(what) + という(that says ~) + の(nominalizer) + ない(negative) and it is all so far from meaning of "ordinary".

there is nothing to say about this announcement = this announcement that is not worth to mention

It's probably the line that follows the one in the other thread about the speaker's station being the next one or whatever it was. So they were nervous to the point of having a hard time breathing because they found out something that normally wouldn't have been that big of a deal, but it was under those specific circumstances. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong there.
